I was raised in a Christian community, I attended a Christian School from 2nd through 12th grade. Upon being convicted of the truth of the doctrines of grace in my freshman year at Georgia Tech, I had a spiritual awakening, and have spent recent years reading, comprehending, and enjoying God’s Word. Currently, I am an undergraduate studying to attain certification as a math teacher. I am a member at Grace Fellowship Church, and I plan to enroll at a local theological seminary some time after graduation, if only to grow in knowledge of grace and truth. Besides reading, writing, and debating, some other activities I love to indulge include skiing, playing chess, and simply spending time with friends and family.

I've lurked here for a while. I tried to hold off on signing up until fall semester is over... I'm weak :) I expect to learn here, so I look forward to future discussion.

Hello folks! This is more of a re-introduction. I've been in a long period of dormancy, and even at that, I wasn't very involved before either!

I'm a Reformed Baptist from extreme Southern Ontario, Canada. As a friend of mine once said, the "Florida" of Canada! I'm in my late 20's.

I look forward to hopefully, if time permits, delving a bit deeper into PB this time around. I am quite busy, but there's always opportunities "waste some time" in a good sense :) I like to think there's something I could bring to this board, because I feel I can relate to many of the different categories of views and perspectives shared on here. I also feel the desire to connect with Reformed people from all sorts of different areas!

I like to collect books, and sometimes even read them! I very much appreciate the writings of Puritans, new and old. I'm also getting to more and more appreciate the Psalms and their depth, richness, and benefit. When I do not listen to at least a few Psalms sung, I feel something missing!

On a sort of different note, as you may infer from the quote in the title of this thread...I also like the humor of P.G. Wodehouse, who wasn't a Puritan, but a great novelist (hey.. does it count that he used "infralapsarian" in one of his novels? :) )

I look forward to getting to know some of you folks.

My nickname is KaphLamedh taken from Greek alphabets, but you can write my name as KL to short it.
Well, I am member of Lutheran Church for reason that in Finland is no presbyterian or reformed church. Lutheran church is however the closest to reformed church in Finland and it share a lot of theological views with reformed church. But the most important is that both have same roots.

Jesus Christ saved me in 2003. I was playing in heavy metal bands and music was almost whole life. Alcohol was also part of that lifestyle. I was 29 when God called me, the call was so strong. Music didnīt give me anything, but I felt that it made me more dirty inside. Beer didnīt give good feeling but it gave fuel for painful feeling. Call of Godīs grace was irresistable and Jesus saved me. There was and is no credit for me all glory is for God and God only.

At first my home church was Free Church of Finland, which is quite close to pentecostal movement, but I never felt it was the church for me. When I moved to another town I met some Christians who introduced reformed theology and calvinism to me I realized that this was theology I agree and was searching for. DVD "Amazing grace - History and theology of Calvinism" and John Piperīs "TULIP" helped me lot.

God bless you all in the holy name of Jesus Christ.

I grew up in a christian home, but never understood the beauty and truths of reformed faith until I went to college. The Death of Death in the Death of Christ, as well as The Bruised Reed are two of my favorite books. I'm glad to be here and hello to to you all!

I am NRB, originally standing for NoRaptureBaptist, yet morphing into NRB due to the length of my original tag used on other boards. ;) Also, I'm Presbyterian now and forever.

Some of you may remember me, some I am new to but I am glad to be here after the recommendation of AMR and others.

I am new to the reformed faith (less than a year), but have a found, along with my wonderful wife, and PCA church that teaches Gospel and Law equally. I was born and raised Catholic(Roman Rite) and was a Baptist for 10+ years after that. I am always wanting to learn, and Reformed Theology is correct and True, and it is what the Bible states as Truth from GOD.

Thankyou for allowing me to join. :)

Hi Everyone,

I am brand new to the Puritan Board. Thanks for allowing me to hang out and learn for you all.

I was born and raised in the midwest as a Roman Catholic. I became a Christian when I was 25, as I was reading a book that was given to me by a neighbor. My first church experience as a disciple of Jesus Christ was in an Assemblies of God church. After three years, my wife and I moved to Minneapolis where we first heard the doctrines of grace, under the ministry of John Piper, and where I became a convinced Calvinist. My wife Robin and I moved to SE Asia to do M* work.

It was in 2007 that I began to hunger for more of an authentic, historic, Reformed theology. On a Furlough in 2007, I went to a Bethlehem Conference for Pastors and met Joel Beeke (who was not speaking but just meeting people in the bookstore.) He introduced me to the Reformed Confessions Harmonized book that he and Sinclair Ferguson edited. I found the presentation of theology in those confessions thoroughly Biblical and satisfying to my soul. Since then, I have studied the WCF, the Larger Catechism, and am currently teaching my children the WSC. I also have a great appreciation for the 3FU, especially the Heidelberg Catechism.

I consider myself a Credobaptist (LBCF), but I am still searching that out. The weakness for me of Credobaptism is that it does not seem to do full justice to the Covenant Theology that I love. :worms:

One other thing about me. I can get long winded...

Blessings,

My name is Ted Leaf, am 62, and live on Long Island Sound in CT.

I've been a truck driver for 41 years, after 4 years of college studying to be a meteorologist! Was born again in November of 1980, while reading a book about the Shroud of Turin, and how a crucified person would suffer, realizing it should have been me.

I like reading about the Puritans, et al, and am very interested in the varied biblical manuscripts (have no training in such, but love to read!). Enjoy reading tried and true dead authors, rather than (mostly) marketable authors of today.

Love my KJV, but also read ESV, NRSV, NIV, REB, interlinears, etc.

Grew up in a Congregational Church where Jonathan Edwards preached "Sinners in the Hands...". Something stuck. Was a Lutheran for 10 years, am now a PCA.

In short - searching for the Truth !! That's why I'm here.

Hope to learn from all of you. Thank you in advance.
