Let it suffice thee

“Let it Suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter”
Deuteronomy 3:26
Deuteronomy 3:26
Here we find The Lord God Dealing with moses in such a way as would seem most harsh. Moses had been told by God earlier in scripture that he would not enter the promised land as he had not done what he was instructed to do ”Numbers 20:12″ yet here in this chapter we find moses praying to the Lord to be allowed to cross the river Jordan to see the “Good Land”. It should not surprise us that God has dealt with moses in such a way as when we are disobedient to our Creator there is no reason why he should accept our plea’s for the things we want.
“LET IT SUFFICE THEE”
To suffice would be to say something was adequate or just enough for us. Our lives are filled with things that should suffice us but we are always looking for that little bit extra.
When out shopping You may have enough money for something that would suffice but our greed means we want more. The same is true of us in many situations in life, we always want bigger/better/more.
The same was true of Moses, He has seen many things that were done for the Children of Israel from the hand of the Lord but he wanted that little bit more. God had said it was not to be so and that my friends was that. It should be noted at this point that in the very next verse God tells Moses to go to the top of a mount and to lift his eyes Westward, Northward, Southward & Eastward to behold it with his eyes, He got to see the promised land.
Will you see the promised land my dear friends?
All we are asked for today, this very minute, even this very second is to repent for our sins & to seek the Lord Jesus Christ with all our heart. It costs us nothing yet in doing so we are rewarded with the Love of Christ.
Oh man of this world Come to him while he may be found as we are not promised another day upon this earth, Death may be only a heartbeat away and without Christ we are facing a lost eternity.
Almighty God we pray to thee for mercy
We ask that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ would enter our lives in a saving way
bringing thine own rich blessing upon our souls.
Forgive us for the sins we commit daily in thought word and deed
In Jesus name
Amen
“SPEAK NO MORE UNTO ME OF THIS MATTER”

Any who are reading this who have children will understand this straight away, It can be very difficult when a child wants something and keeps on asking for it. Now from what we know Moses did not keep asking but God knows our hearts so it may have been that in his heart Moses was pleading to God on this matter, God’s answer is simple yet very powerful and also dealt with in a loving way. A child with respect for it’s father would accept these words gracefully. Unfortunately i believe that in our society today very few children have real respect for their parents, Fathers are no longer looked at as the head of the home & even further than that I believe many have no authority in the home at all. This, my dear reader comes from a falling away from God, From reading the Bible and from lack of Prayer.
Pray this day that you might be saved by the grace of God and that in His arms you would hear these tender loving words “Let it suffice thee”.
