There is still the fact that this prophecy was fulfilled several chapters later in Isaiah. So the original quote from the 1st post is still the only hermenutic that I can see Matthew using to relate this verse to Jesus. Of course, just because I can't think of another way doesn't mean there isn't one. :-)
