I wasn't sure which forum to put this in, decided on the entertainment forum. I think it'd be entertaining, not in the Hollywood sense, but entertaining nevertheless.
I followed a link at a church website to a place called
Scottish Reformation Tours. I was just curious if anybody's heard of them, or had the opportunity to go to Scotland and take such a tour. I think it'd be fascinating (and entertaining) to take such a tour.
They quote from Alistair McGrath's book ‘Roots that Refresh' who writes,
“Evangelicalism has too often become blind to its own heritage, unable to discern this heritage itself, let alone share it with others. As a result, the modern church is being denied access to a resource which ought to be there - a spirituality which is radically and consistently grounded in Scripture, and orientated towards the cross....
To study the spirituality of the Reformation is thus to be propelled into a new approach to the Christian faith, in which we continually ask what it means to be a Christian, and how this expresses itself at every level - above all, at the interface between faith and life.”
