Watch eBay. A set comes up occasionally. I picked up a set in decent condition for 50 bucks about a year ago. They're usually more than that. You can do a search on line as well, but I couldn't find a set even remotely affordable for my budget. The set I picked up had old clippings and letters in it dated back to the 19th and early 20th century.
Recently I handed one of them to a friend. He promptly plopped it down and flipped the cover open  . The front board almost came off and is now hanging by threads.  |
I know. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. The guy didn't know what he had.
My copy is dated 1839 Boston: Samuel T. Armstrong, and Crocker and Brewster.
