Some say the NT is a book of Love, the OT is a book of vengence:

Galations 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Yet,

Leviticus 19:18 - You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.
