I haven't seen the original movies...had never really heard of any of it, to be honest. Definitely a spoiler! Oh well, at least it was just the dog and didn't really tell me anything about how the movie would turn out.

This is something about the movie that confused me. At one point, Neville records in his journal that the zombies seem to have lost all human (rational/intellectual?) faculty because the one zombie stuck his head out into the sun, thereby exhibiting an inhuman disregard for his own well-being. Later on, it turns out that the zombies somehow know he's been hanging out in the CD store and set his own trap against him using one of the manikins...so are they intelligent or not???

And though the really inspired artist may complain that, with the majority, piano-playing is mere strumming, and painting little more than daubing, yet, the exuberant feeling of having a share in the privileges of art is so overwhelming, that the scorn of the artist is preferred to the abandonment of art training in education. To have laid a production of your own, however poor, upon the altar of art becomes more and more the characteristic of an accomplished civilization. - Abraham Kuyper
