Some will running WINE - a Windows emulation SW package - it is integrated into Ubuntu.
Couple of thoughts:
Ubuntu is good -
Kubuntu (Ubuntu with the KDE desktop GUI) I think is better for those just starting out.
I actually have a USB drive with
Puppy Linux and KDE - it is a little quirky, but super fast!
