Hello from a dark area
Hi, everyone!
I just joined you yesterday and I'm so glad to have found this forum!
Brief background: raised and educated in Roman Catholicism through two degrees and a minor in theology (under Jesuits). The first 12 years had a rather distinct Irish-American "flavor" (not savor...). Never believed in "transubstantiation," among many other RC teachings, and always knew I had to leave. And so I did. Some 16 years ago, I fled to the Reformed Protestantism that my great-grandparents had adhered to; became a sinner saved by grace 13 years ago. The "dark area" I live in is southeast MI, but it's becoming a little less dark now that we have been blessed with a brand-new preaching station of the Free Church of Scotland [Continuing].
I read a lot; I seek out good preaching on the west side of the state (before we got our preaching station here, it was my only recourse). I consider that the Lord has blessed me far beyond anything that I could ever have imagined... And His mercies definitely are new every morning!
I look forward to reading posts here and participating when/if I feel I can contribute.
To the administrators and others: thank you so much for this forum, for allowing me to be here and for your efforts on behalf of the advancement of Reformed doctrine.
