I've read it, and found it very informative. Some of Leithart's conclusions I may not even agree with fully, but that's why I like him - he forces me to look at OT history from a different angle. His observations about the incorporation of Obed-Edom into the tribe of Levi were especially good. I'm teaching through 1 and 2 Samuel at our church, and have used both this book and A Son to Me as two (of several) source books.
Leithart, like most writers, can be very, very good on some topics, and off on others. I like him best when he's writing on OT history and Christology.
