It's deplorable how not only do ticket scalpers and radio stations snag most available tickets for concerts, but before long the only people who can afford season tickets to major league football games won't be "people" at all, but corporations. Okay, and the Really, Really Rich.

But ordinary sports fans?

Nope.

(Not that I see the attraction in attending a game in person over watching it at home. Much more comfy at home, plus we can use the TiVo to replay bits we missed the first time.)
Anne,

I hate to burst your bubble, but once they build that new billion $ stadium and ticket prices sky rocket..the same thing will happen that has been happening here in Jax with the Jaguars...

Not only has the cost of tickets gone up to pay for the Stadium, but concession prices have gone up as well, and people are opting to stay home--and in that locals aren't buying the tickets..the NFL does a local black out of all games when X number of tickets haven't been purchased, so you can't even watch the game at home.

A few years ago, one of the local Supermarkets bought up a bunch of tickets and gave them away to customers who were willing to stand in line for a couple hours to get them, just so that they wouldn't black out the games, but they have found people just don't care anymore..they'll stay home and watch another team play..

When they first built the stadium, the NFL didn't want "any other teams" to play there, like the Florida/Georgia Game, that was played at the Gator Bowl Stadium for years, people protested..as that was a HUGE money maker for the city..and as our tax dollars were also going to help pay for the stadium, they relented.
