Paul doesn't even address my point, namely the discrepancy of how church discipline is implemented in the Old Testament and the church. If there is continuity, why did they not stone the person in the sin in 1 Cor. 5? Why do they confront and to try to restore the brother?

Then he does a guilt by association argument: your pastor argued such-and-such (in a debate exchange in which Gene didn't have time to elaborate, and an exchange in which Paul constantly interrupted Gene, no less), therefore you must also argue the same way, and that must be your only argument. Again, it's a great technique to look superior in a debate, but it's poor argumentation.
