First, however, how do you know when demons are around you? Perhaps they are always all around us.
Neil Anderson, et al, says that since they cannot read minds, we must verbally cast them out out loud (not sure how well they hear or in what language they understand.... )... ie. they must hear us.
But what I am saying is that even though the spirit world is real and perhaps even more active visibly in some places than others, there is no need for hocus-pocus...pray to God, but never address demons, even to cast them out ---- pray to God through Christ....and the devil will flee from you.
In an attempt to get spiritual warfare back to a biblical position many have gone too far and have bought into a lot of superstition.... |
Well put, Trevor. Ephesians 6 gives a lot of help on this. We are told to stand, not charge, and rely upon the protection of God: being surrounded by truth, standing on the gospel, relying on God's actual Word, and praying.
There are no formulas or rituals for direct engagement here. God is able and we are to trust him, not our own magic skill.
