Circumcision was not a sign of Abraham's faith. It was a sign of the righteousness which he had
by faith. There's a huge difference. One is subjective, the other objective. The righteousness which Abraham had, Christ's righteousness, exists independently of anyone's obtaining it by faith.
If circumcision was a sign of righteousness and baptism is also such a sign, then Abraham's physical descendants should not have been permitted to receive the sign as children (according to your premises). You are right in saying that faith came first
for Abraham, but it was not so for Isaac and Ishmael (and all the other male members of Abraham's household).
