It's not a feature that XMB supports currently but I would LOVE that feature myself. I actually just posted that very idea in the XMB features request forum. We're on the same wavelength.

Hack idea (in order of basic to "coolest" feature)
1. Give user the option to have the contents of all U2U messages forwarded to the e-mail on their user account.
2. Put a "Forward to my e-mail" button in the U2U interface so the user can automatically send the particular U2U's he wants to send to his e-mail.
